The mother of all mobile sales is here this Diwali. Indiagames is giving away one free title everyday from 10th to the 17th of November. Western Digital release high-performance 1TB VelociRaptor

Western Digital has released a new generation of VelociRaptor hard-drives in 1TB, 500GB, and 250GB capacities. These hard drives are designed to handle large and dynamic files that are typically used by media editors. To that end, they spin at 10,000RPM, use the 6GB/s SATA channel, and come with 64MB cache. To keep the hard-drives from quickly heating up at peak speeds, Western Digital ships them with IcePack enclosure, which is a 3.5-inch mounting frame with built-in heat sink. Furthermore, the drives are optimized to function in vibration prone, multi-drive setup. Western Digital is shipping these VelociRaptor drives with suggested retail price of Rs.15,499 for 1TB, Rs.9,299 for 500GB, and Rs.6,199 for 250GB, plus taxes.

Rumor: Xbox Surface tablet

The Verge reports fresh rumors on a 7-inch, gaming grade tablet that is currently under development at Microsoft. These rumors speculate that the device is being developed independent of the platform, and that an unannounced SoC from Intel, or a custom ARM processor with high-speed RAM is being considered for the final build.

Just like the Xbox, the tablet will run a custom version of Windows operating system. Messengers and other tablet specific apps are also being under developed; however, the focus for the tablet is on gaming. Microsoft is allegedly developing the device behind closed doors at its offices in Silicon Valley, under its Interactive Entertainment Business division. Unsurprisingly, Microsoft has declined to comment on these rumors.

Asus Nexus 7 will launch in India tomorrow, priced at Rs. 19,981 for 16GB variant

Asus has confirmed that their very first Nexus tablet will arrive in the Indian market tomorrow. The tablet is now listed on Croma’s online store and has a Rs. 19,981 price tag for the 16GB variant.

The Asus Nexus 7 is an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean based tablet which was unveiled at Google I/O earlier this year and since then it has been the best selling Android tablet globally. Asus announced that the company has been selling almost one million units every month.

This Nexus branded tablet manufactured by Asus was initially announced in two variants of 8GB ($199) and 16GB ($249), However Asus announced earlier this month that the 8GB variant will be discontinued and the 16GB will be priced for $199, while the new 32GB will be priced at $249. So in India the device is selling for almost double its price, but it still seems to be in budget and includes high-end specifications.

In term of the specifications the Asus Nexus 7 is powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 clocked at 1.3GHz, it has 1GB of RAM, a 7-inch IPS display with 1280x800 pixels resolution, a front facing camera and it delivers a battery life of up to 9 hours. At the moment the company has not confirmed whether the 32GB variant will come to the Indian market.
