Microsoft had being taking pre-orders for DVD version of Windows 8 Pro through select retailers, and the Microsoft Store. Amazon.com, Best Buy, Staples, and Office Depot were some of the other retailers that were listed by Microsoft as selling the package for an estimated retail price of $69.99. Windows 8 will be available through the online upgrade option for estimated $39.99, starting on October 26.
The online version will be made available in 140 countries worldwide, with 23 supported currencies. OEM vendors such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Samsung and Sony have also started taking pre-orders for rigs with Windows 8.
